9/9/2008 MT: Environmental Health Specialist (2 positions).  Lewis & Clark City County Health Department, Helena, MT. Application deadline is 5:00 pm, September 26, 2008.

 

9/4/2008 CO Environmental Health Specialist,  Pitkin County (Aspen), Colorado.  Position conducts site inspections of restaurants, schools and other facilities for compliance with public health regulations and addresses non-compliance issues. The Environmental Health Specialist is also responsible for issuance of Onsite Wastewater Treatment System permits and conducting related site inspections. The position responds to inquiries and complaints pertaining to retail food service requirements, Onsite Wastewater Treatment Systems, noise, fugitive dust, insect-borne diseases, and other public environmental health concerns. Payment is made monthly & calculated per audit which varies per account. Inspectors perform thorough audits, similar but more extensive than many health department inspection. Auditors communicate with & train managers & hourly staff on-site. It’s a great way for a professional and experienced EHS or equivalent to remain in their area of expertise while earning outside income under the umbrella of their own business.  Requirements: REHS, EHO or equivalent;  Previous or current Health Department or similar experience; Excellent communication, motivation and service skills; Organized, responsible & able to set/ follow schedule; Bi-lingual preferred in some areas as needed but not required; (Current HD officials are welcome! We can structure your inspections so they fall outside your current jurisdiction so there is no conflict of interest.)
